When you’re running a System Center 2012 Configuration Manager hierarchy with secondary sites, then you often have also to give some people in the secondary sites rights, as example, to add a Computer to the SCCM hierarchy. So, they will have to use the console, but where do they have to connect?
On the secondary site with remote console, they still have to connect to the SMS Provider, and this resides normally on the Primary Site Server, or on the Database Server. But since ConfigMgr 2012 you can install multiple SMS Provider as explained on TechNet:
